Naggers Are Lovers
Randy Pausch in his book, The last Lecture, proposes that nagging people are really lovers. He didn’t say that, I’m just rephrasing what he wrote to make a point.
People nag others because they care, although it doesn’t seem so.
Stop what you’re doing and watch this.
When people stop nagging you, it means they’ve given up on you.
It’s an educated guess that you’ve never considered this angle before. Nagging seems so negative.
Nagging is actually positive.
Are you going to find ten minutes in your life to watch Will Smith’s passion and wisdom?
It will be the best ten minutes you invest this year.
We’ll there’s better stuff out there, but you’ll most likely never find it. I probably will. And then nag you to pay attention. Maybe.
Are you willing to take that chance?
Ten minutes.
Only a fool would pass on this.
I guess.
You Know What He Told Me?
Ever ask a nine-year old for business advice? I did recently.
Pondering the pros and cons of going solo versus partnering, on a special project. So, just for kicks, I asked my son (9).
He said, “Two heads are better than one”.
For the next few minutes, my son and I waited for our friend to arrive.
The correct answer in hand, we had a great meeting.

Oh, I almost forgot, you don’t have 180 seconds to spare.
I was at Starbucks on Friday and ordered a tall (which is really a small – too funny) cup of coffee. They were out. So if Starbucks has to brew a fresh pot for you – in 180 seconds – they provide it complimentary.
When he made the offer, I thought, “I don’t have three minutes. I gotta get going“.
Then it hit me, “If you don’t have 180 seconds to spare in your life, you better go look in the mirror and ask why”, I said to myself.
It was amazing, in those brief three minutes, what I saw in the mirror.
I saw a man who has a difficult time fitting all life’s puzzle pieces together. But a man who doesn’t give up.
I was sad and happy all in the course of 180 seconds.
After picking up my son at summer camp, we went to Gold’s Gym for an hour.
It was a great day, because I took even more time to reflect on what’s important, and then acted on it
