Another day in paradise.

No, not talking about retirement as paradise.

Talking about retirement as adventure.

Adventure is paradise.

Don’t waste your adventure time and opportunity.

The only thing that’s different about adventure now is that you do not need to carry the weight of work accountability and work responsibility because no one is paying you for those things anymore.

A new kind of career paradise.

Leveling up, work

Used to park here (where i’m standing to take this pic) when i worked at Disney’s Contemporary Resort from 1985-1990.

Walking by at eye level it’s easy to miss this ‘hidden Mickey’. But from the western Main Building rooms, it’s stunning.

Brought my client here last week…

Say “cheese”.

Same spot as the previous photo, simply doing a 180.

Never kept track.

Positive reinforcement.

Gifting others with it.

What was different last week is the audience.

All my positive reinforcement went to new people. A combo of Disney and Disney Institute Cast Members and my client’s special team he brought to Disney Institute.

The newness of the audience facilitated daily, marginal leveling up. Why? Because many were people i was meeting for the first time.

Note: The exception is the CEO.

Facebook post — Sharing this to help my healing. Writing here helps. Initially replied to Fred’s comment with one of my own. Decided to cut it word-for-word and paste it in a personal text to Fred. Verbatim comment, below…

text thread — This feels so much better. Only Fred and i see it. Did the same thing, in the same order, with another colleague’s FB comment.

Still working on a decision to keep (now, with zero ‘Friends’) or delete my ‘personal’ Family FB account.

Originally had 450 Friends. Family, High School friends, College Fraternity friends, Disney colleagues, a few clients. Probably a decade ago i reduced it by at least half.

Why?

Too much to try to keep up with.

Then a few years later, the original 450 was now sitting at 27. Just Family and a couple HS & College buddies.

This week i unfriended all 27. So that’s where the zero comes from. This is a compromise from the original desire to officially delete the entire account. Once again, time will tell.
