Theme Park Rangers & Top Ten List

Orlando Sentinel has a feature called Theme Park Rangers.

They write the latest news from The Walt Disney Resort, Universal Studios, Sea World, Busch Gardens, and other Central Florida Tourist Attractions.

By the way, just or fun, here are the top reasons I have spent the past 25 years of my life working in Central Florida:

  1. The daily opportunity to make other people happy
  2. Palm trees and sunshine
  3. The fanatical focus on excellence
  4. The fanatical drive to be creative
  5. Unwavering belief in the value of memories
  6. Great leadership
  7. World class team work
  8. Our childlike enthusiasm for making work fun
  9. Wonderful people and wonderful relationships
  10. The cafeteria food  🙂

Make it a GREAT day.  Carpe diem, jungle jeff  🙂

Creativity means what?

What are the big two, three or four key drivers for you and your leadership behavior?

I believe in innovation, technology and global reach.

I’m curious by nature, so let me please ask you, “Did you have an immediate answer”?

Great if you did.  If you didn’t, imagine the unbelievable potential you have to get, and stay, focused.

Curious still.  If you do have a list, how many others know of it? How often do you focus on it?

Bottom Line?  How important is focus?

Million-dollar question……how focused are you?

Today is an excellent day to make your list or revisit your list.  If not today, when?  If not you, who?  Carpe diem, jeff noel 🙂

Scary thought?

If you would have asked me a dozen years ago if I’d ever thought I’d be a public, motivational speaker, I’d have told you, “Not in a million years“.  It was never on my radar, nor was it ever a childhood dream.

You know the scary part?  And by the way, when the scary thought starts creeping into my consciousness, I have to immediately distract myself.  Otherwise, I might get sick.

The scary part is that everyone expects public speakers to be smart and funny.

Smart and funny.

Are you kidding me?

Do what you fear and the death of that fear is certain.  Public speaking also boosts self-confidence.  Self-confidence boosts your leadership thinking.  And that, as they say, could very well be money in the bank.

So today, I’m going to do something I fear, like taking calculated risks to move a great idea forward.  It’s risky because the goal seems impossible to many people.  But that won’t stop me.  Will it stop you?

Carpe diem, jungle jeff  🙂

Wisdom

What is wisdom and why is it so valuable?

Are you wise?  Am I wise?  How do any of us really know?

While I may or may not be wise, I do work very hard to take what I teach and use it personally.  Why?  Two reasons.  To show how common sense ideas can be applied anywhere and because it actually makes my life better.  Period.

Simple example, but I encourage you not to be tempted to dismiss it’s significance.  I never capitalize my name.  That’s a whole other story waiting to be told.

Back to the questions and the point.

What is wisdom?  How about this thought:

In the absence of clearly defined goals, we become strangely loyal to performing daily acts of trivia.”  —  anonymous

WOW!

Seriously, wow!

A few weeks ago (here’s the link if you want instant access: www.junglejeff.net/?p=257 ), I wrote a post that contained the essence of this quote.

Do you know how long I lived my life strangely loyal to performing daily acts of trivia?

Wwwwaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyy too long.

Now, not so much.  Not perfect by any means.  Never will be.

But!

But, I am more razor-focused on World-Class delivery and content than ever.  Razor-focused.

I often wonder what took me so long to figure out the difference in results, when I’m razor-focused, compared to when I was loyal to performing daily acts of trivia.

Make it a GREAT, razor-focused day, because if you don’t, who will.  Carpe diem, jungle jeff  🙂

PS.  Tomorrow, the story of no caps. Maybe.
