Career gymnastics

Spent five hours combing through all my FaceBook posts. Monica’s Real Estate Business Podcast was recorded as a kickoff to her “tribe” of ambitious real estate agents. They listened to one episode per week and then discussed it in a separate (also weekly) Zoom meeting. Watched about 15 minutes of it and it was ‘pretty good’. So i didn’t delete it. It’s here.

Career gymnastics.

Don’t let your blind ambition erase your intuition.

Climb high, but ensure you love what you do.

A ‘good’ paycheck is a high price to pay when you wish you had a more fulfilling job.

Work is only work if you’d rather be doing something else.

Goals for beginners

GNP. Mt Reynolds, center. View from Mt Oberlin.

Setting a goal is not the main thing. It is deciding how you will go about achieving it and staying with that plan.

Tom Landry

Things will work out better than you plan, or worse than you plan. No one has a crystal ball to hit the bullseye exactly. Plan and react accordingly for each scenario.

Easy, effortless, enjoyable

LinkedIn Learning module notes.
  • Easy, effortless, enjoyable.
  • Who doesn’t want that?
  • The book won’t be good unless you expose yourself.

These notes are from a LinkedIn Learning module by Jodi Glickman.

Here we are January 13, 2020 and people’s renewed excitement for renewal and recommitment are starting to crack and crumble.

Why?

Too much coming at us.

i mean too much on top of the normal craziness.

Keep your goals to yourself (short video)

Mickey Mouse Hat smiley face on dinner table cloth last night.

Keep your goals to yourself.

The 3-minute video shares a phenomenon that i have personally experienced in both publicly announcing goals and with keeping goals private.

It’s always a better outcome when i keep big goals private until they are accomplished.

Too much false sense of progress in announcing. Simply proclaiming a goal temps us to believe progress has been made.

Rubbish.
