Busy is not sexy, work

There’s a time and place. And most importantly, there’s context.

Why is being busy not sexy?

Why?

Wait, you haven’t figured this out yet?

No one on their death bed ever says, “I only wish I had spent more time at the office.”

Hold on, work

Senior couple at Disney
Home sweet home, Walt Disney World.

…and six hours earlier we knew…

We’d be splitting up.

Three cars.

Three pairs.

Two agendas.

One agenda (mine) is to tag along and enjoy the Parks without needing or wanting to stand in line and/or sit in an audience or a ride vehicle. Like we sometimes do at Glacier, wanted to simply chill and watch the ‘wildlife’ (the Guests).

The other agenda is Disney’s Skyliner to Epcot.

Nearly 5pm now, sitting on our front porch (my second fav place on our planet), and four blogs into a five-a-day blogging commitment that began 18 years ago.

Lovin’ life sitting on our screened-in, shaded front porch.

The question often asked is, “WWJD?”

For me, WWjD equals, “What would jeff do?”

So the answer is what i did today.

The trap to be busy, work

The trap of being busy.

Insidious.

Habitual.

Common.

Addicting.

Harmful.

Unhealthy.

Regretful.

Please stop letting your blind ambition erase your intuition.

Seven clouds, eight clouds

Seven clouds, eight clouds?

How many did you notice when you walked into and out of the grocery store?

Career gymnastics

zoom call screen photo
Spent five hours combing through all my FaceBook posts. Monica’s Real Estate Business Podcast was recorded as a kickoff to her “tribe” of ambitious real estate agents. They listened to one episode per week and then discussed it in a separate (also weekly) Zoom meeting. Watched about 15 minutes of it and it was ‘pretty good’. So i didn’t delete it. It’s here.

Career gymnastics.

Don’t let your blind ambition erase your intuition.

Climb high, but ensure you love what you do.

A ‘good’ paycheck is a high price to pay when you wish you had a more fulfilling job.

Work is only work if you’d rather be doing something else.
