Two weeks in

Odds are high in 2020 that the podcasting in Glacier is much better than in 2019.

Two weeks into the new year and everyone is wondering, “How are you doing so far?”

So predictable by societal norms.

We get stuck, stalled, sick.

Sick of grand, burning ideas that all too soon extinguish themselves.

In 10 days, If Disney Ran Your Life, a personal vibrancy podcast, officially launches.

It’s free, for now, and it’s different from what i’ve listened to.

It’s a difference worth exploring.

And of course, i’m only saying this because i know the owner.

A paradoxical approach to changing habitual cravings

A paradoxical approach to changing habitual cravings.

To say this nine-minute video has the DNA to change my life is the understatement of the new year.

You may feel the same way if you watch it.

What Will GREAT Look Like?

What will GREAT look like for you in 2010?

I can’t imagine being a professional and not being a LinkedIn member. But it’s not unreasonable at this point for many to still not be involved.

My wife is not on LinkedIn, however, I do believe it would benefit her to get started.

Anyway, through LinkedIn, which I read daily, I followed a link  – “What Will Great Look Like For You In 2010?” A quote from that link sparked today’s blog post.

So there are two messages today:

  1. Social media, like anything else, works best when used frequently
  2. All five of my blogs are free

A reader commented a few months ago, “You never ask for anything.”

It was, and still is, a question that leaves a funny feeling in my gut.

Why would anyone invest in five daily blogs, reveal secrets, success tips, insightful thinking, be vulnerable and transparent, and never ask for a nickel in return?

“Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” Howard Thurman

The Key To Passion

The key to passion is to move from selfishness to selflessness.

When I earnestly try to comprehend this, it begins to transform my motives.

Motives drive thinking and thinking drives behavior.

Behavior drives whether or not we are selfish, or selfless.

It’s very simple.  Very elusive.  And yet, it’s the proverbial pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. We all know this to be true, eventually, if we live long enough.

Whether we act on this new found knowledge determines our outcome in life.

And this outcome will determine whether we gave or took, whether or not we harnessed the key to passion.  Whether we were a follower or a leader.

My Biggest Blind Spot

Biggest blind spot?  You really want to know?  It’s embarrassing actually.

What makes it embarrassing is the fact that I was so clueless about it. Seriously clueless.

To teach is to learn twice, and as I worked hard to apply what I was teaching (1999-ish), an epiphany appeared.

By the way, it’s likely that I hold some sort of State or National record for epiphanies.

It has been a life changing event for me.  Life changing!

Tomorrow, I’ll share it.  Sometime soon, why not give some consideration to a huge change you need to make, but are clueless you need to make it.

Oh, I get it, this is uncomfortable, and I’m full of garbage, right?

Anyone remember the Disney movie, Miracle?  The athletes literally hated their coach.  Yet their coach had them do something that no one had done in twenty years.

PS.  If you didn’t click on the hyperlink Miracle, you owe it to yourself to do it now. Unless you’re a chicken$h!t.  Carpe diem, jungle jeff 🙂
