Boat trip, day 2, work

Grateful for clouds and sunscreen today.
11-second video: Water temperature and depth is perfect. Location is pretty good too.

After a full day with our feet in the sand bottom, we went to dinner. By boat. To Shore Restaurant.

What is it that stimulates our mind, body, and spirit when we are next to water? Most simply, being near or in water is a significant, positive state change.

Does the mind, body, spirit stimulation change when we immerse ourselves in the water? There are exceptions, but i’m going with water is magical and medicinal on every level.

We are spending the day, standing on the ocean bottom, leaning against our raft. We are also gently swayed by the small waves that perpetually seek our island’s shore.

Island time has a double meaning here.

There’s the mental (imagination) version, accessible to anyone, anywhere, anytime.

And there’s the actual (small-island) island time where you are on an island with nowhere to go, not much to do. So you relax and enjoy where you are, who you’re with, for as long as you’re there.

Boat trip, day 1, work

Boat leaving a marina
Heading out for the day, on a cold, yet sunny, February morning.

Why does visiting a water feature stimulate our mind, body and spirit?

Compass by Margaritaville, Hotel.

On the water.

Surrounded by water, and boats and ‘Margaritaville’ vibes.

Ps. Our official response is, “We are visiting to do ‘water-stimulation’ research.”

Lots of hugging, smiles, and laughter.

Memory lane is a nice street.

What was Cheryl’s 50th High School reunion like at the final-day picnic?

In hindsight, i laid pretty low socially.

In real time at the reunion i decided to let the classmates talk amongst themselves rather than spend time with a ‘stranger’ (me).

As a bonus, i had ample observation and deep-thinking time i hadn’t planned on.

Early Summer Trip day 8, work

Best college cafeteria accolades
Seven consecutive years. Out for a walk and stopped by one of our favorite Allentown ‘restaurants’.

What was it like to attend Cheryl’s 50th High School reunion?

Pretty good.

Visionary?

Didn’t seem so. In my opinion.

Unless the vision was to have fun and get people to connect.

Note: An overwhelming percentage of the 130 classmates attending live near where they grew up. So the need to create get-together opportunities seems weird to me. If you want to connect in person with a classmate, just text them. For Cheryl, that means someone has to fly 1,100 miles, secure lodging, etc, etc. For the rest, an acceptable drive to an agreed upon location. Bring the grandkids if inclined.

Early Summer Trip day 7, work

Quote
On it.

How will i prepare for the third-day 50th High School reunion finale picnic?

First and foremost, i’ll try to humbly exude the photo above’s message.

This is Cheryl’s time to shine.

i am in the shadows, grateful to witness Cheryl’s loving audacity.

Note: i am the luckiest human on the planet, to be married to Cheryl.
