Best Disney Conference Speakers — Doing a little extra is a habit. Most won’t notice it, but do it anyway.

The Vancouver client is taking a long time to confirm me as their speaker. This means one of two things:

They aren’t sure how to nicely tell me no.
They are simply crazy busy and the speech is over a month away.

One day, you feel on top of the world. The next, not so much.

It comes with the territory.

Disney Way Leadership keynote speaker — The Disney Way is compromised of over-focusing on the same things others under-focus on or ignore.

Struggling is a big part of life. You know, the personal struggles we all face.

But what about in business?

Do entire companies need to struggle with a culture that isn’t intentional?

No.

All that needs to be done is to over-focus on the very same things everyone else either under-focuses on or ignores.

My days are spent talking with executive leaders who don’t know how to initiate a culture like this.

It’s what i’ve grown up on, spent a lifetime doing, and now teach others how to do it themselves.

And it all started on January 25, 1982, when i began my Disney career as a front-line Cast Member, jungle jeff.

PS. Sometimes i end a post just like this one. No moral, no punchline, no call to action. It just ends. Why? Because i figure what happens next it up to the reader.

Great leadership allows this to happen…

We arrived at Disneyland and headed into the Park to get dinner. No reservation, no plan. The turnstile Cast Member recommended The Plaza Restaurant for their incredible fried chicken, so off we went.

As we walked up to the entrance, aha, hey, what about Blue Bayou for their Jambalaya and gumbo? Perfect.

But at 5pm and no reservation, the odds were nearly zero. We took the chance anyway.

The initial answer was led with an apology and then Evelyn said, “Let me check on something.”

She returned a few minutes later with, “We can do it but there will be a 30-45 minute wait.” We took the pager and 22 minutes later, we were inside. Thank you Walt for your amazing insistence on excellent Guest Service.
