Disney everyday, work

Disney.

Everyday.

Transferring Disney’s best business insights to my personal life started in 1999 when i started teaching Disney insights to outsiders through Disney Institute.

Employed by Disney, every day, from 1982-2014.

So yeah, Disney, everyday.

outdoor wedding rehearsal
Last night’s wedding rehearsal. Practicing important things helps you. A simple truth. Practice, generally is a boring truth.

Simple truths are boring.

And, forgotten.

Fight like hell to rise above this boring truth.

Find a million ways to make your boring truths shine like diamonds and gold.

Incompetent incompetents

Bottle of extra virgin olive oil
This photo has nothing to do with this post. In a weird way, it’s the perfect example of not knowing how much you don’t know: aka an incompetent incompetent.

Yesterday’s meeting was gold.

Not for the team leader. She failed to run an excellent meeting.

What gold then?

My gold. My main client finally got to see, hear, and feel what i’ve been saying for years.

In summary, “Ya’ll have no idea how to think like it matters.”

Bonus: Greatness will elude you, until you understand WHY Disney does what it does. That won’t happen until you stop focusing on what Disney does and how Disney does it.

“To excellence and beyond.”

The goal of great leadership is to inspire every employee to deliver excellence all the time, every time. And to do so willingly and exceptionally.

Guard your secret ingredients

Palm trees reflecting in a window
The woodwork first caught my eye, but it was the faint palm tree reflections that prompted this photo.

Colonial Sanders Kentucky Fried Chicken secret recipe.

Coca-Cola’s secret recipe.

Apple’s operating system.
