Still in Glacier, work

mountains
L-R: Edwards, Gunsight, Lincoln Peak. And far right is Mount Jackson.

Humbled at my own effort, energy, and commitment to ‘keep moving forward’.

What does blogging hold for me after all these years (15)?

What does Glacier hold for me after all these years (51)?

First full day back home, work

Over my should is a giant ‘Grease Monkey’ roadside sign. The book on my lap is from Grease Monkey’s lobby ‘library’. A $120 oil change was covered by Enterprise (Alamo) Rental Car.

As real and as close as it gets without being hit.

Hurricane Helene was brutal to many regions.

We know the brutality firsthand, and all too frequently.

Glad our son is home to handle things in our absence.

Sorry for those who are in the path.

Day 14 CCL, work

mountains
Looking back on the Two Medicine valley.

Divide Mountain upper left horizon is a beacon where the Great Plains meets Glacier’s Rocky Mountains. Photo is from a few miles north of Two Medicine, heading to St Mary.
Great Plains
The Great Plains are massively ‘great’.
trailhead sign
Between Two Med and St Mary is Cut Bank. Cut Bank is a small town many miles East. Cut Bank is also the name of this remote Glacier geographic region.

My request to Cheryl was we stop here (it’s five miles in on an unpaved road, off the already remote paved road) on the drive to St Mary, and walk one mile in and one mile back.

A wild-card day can be fun in hindsight. However, in the moment, because there is no plan, you cannot ascertain the odds for success.

And remember, in our scenario, there are two people who have no idea what’s next.

Day 13 CCL, work

17-second video: A Bob Dylan style artist singing about Dancing Woman Mountain.
9-second video: Guess who bought the painting.
34-second video: Just right now i can’t recall her name. She’s going to host “Montana’s Got Talent” late next month in Kalispell. Drew is hoping to win.

Our contribution to the Blackfeet Native Language studies was the purchase of several items in the artist’s hallway behind the main lobby. The TeePee-Grizzly painting by Jeremy Johnson will have a prominent place in our home.
