Starting year 18, work

This blog post’s title is funny…

“Starting year 18, work”

Obviously, starting year 18 of daily blogging about work.

The ‘work’ i expect to write about is the work of unpaid effort.

“Working” on learning AI, hopefully writing another book or two, and perhaps some video assets.

Time will tell.

No promises.

Note: Counting all my official IRS tax-paying work years, it’s 50+ working years.

18th year eve, work

This is my first year (2026) without working, while on this 16-17 year daily blogging streak.

i’ve never not worked.

Unfathomable how i managed to never miss a day working full time and traveling the globe for Disney Institute. Oh yeah, and parenting, etc.

Also unfathomable, moving through 2026, how i could start a day without writing.

Ever.

Particularly now and in the future, without the responsibility to run a business.

Note: If work comes to me and it’s in Orlando, at a fair price, on a date that’s easy to commit to, i’ll continue to “work”.

One-week countdown, work

a row of yellow boxes with a number 5
Started seeing five everywhere. Even on the floor.

Focus, discipline, and vision are hard to beat.

i didn’t have any for daily blogging.

But…

The newly resurfaced 1979 goal to write a book for my kids ignited a fire that could last, or quickly become only ashes.

Looked like the fire was quickly going out.

From October 2008 through March 31, 2009, i had literally nothing to show.

No writing focus.

No writing discipline.

But i did have an old, dusty, 30-year old dream to write a book for my kids.

And the idea hit me…

Two-week countdown, work

Most people, including me, rarely scroll down far enough to remember this search option exists.

Here’s a laptop view. Once again, when reading blog posts, i never scroll down to the screen’s bottom.

When you do scroll to the bottom and click the “Blog Categories” dropdown screen…wow, a literal treasure chest of choices to explore.

Blog category: Blogging and social media

A side benefit from daily, prolific blogging is SEO.

SEO means search engine optimization.

SEO is helpful, but not a guarantee.

The way i pursue SEO is by not pursuing it.

And now that Social Security is green-lighted for later this year, SEO no longer has any relevance.

Blogging world record, work

JungleJeff.net “archived blogs” widget showing earliest posts began November 21, 2008. Jungle Jeff.com was and still is taken. Had Jungle Jeff.org but let it expire.

At one point 130 domain names were registered in my GoDaddy account.

Down to 10 now.

Part of the entrepreneurial learning curve is making decisions with no crystal ball and little to no previous business building experience.

Grateful for it all.
