His final keynote speeches and multi-day transformational engagements are some of the very best of his entire career.

The other option would be to coast the final month.

He has absolutely no idea how to coast.

For real.

Six years in the making yet last minute details exist

If you could have a Disney retirement party, what venue?

While it has been six years in the making, the actual final day has been determined rather quickly. This means logistically, choices have to be made and on short notice, it’s challenging to get your first choice.

However, because of dedicated people who make Magic everyday, the event will be at the first choice location.

A half-hour has been blocked at 3:30pm today to gather for jungle jeff’s ‘Disney years of service’ award. Thirty years at Disney used to be rare back in the day. Most of the people receiving that milestone were hired as part of the opening team in 1971 or hired shortly thereafter.

You felt privileged to be in attendance at their special recognition.

Nowadays, 30 years isn’t such a big deal.

Unless it’s you.

Then it’s pretty surreal.

While 30 years at Disney isn’t rare, 30 years with a single organization in 2014 is.

The nervous part?

Hard to explain.

When this post goes live in 100 days, jungle jeff will be 10 days away from 30 ‘official’ years at Walt Disney World.

Original hire date of January 25, 1982, beginning as ‘jungle jeff’ in Adventureland.

Left when Summer ended and returned for good September 27, 1984.

So excited to reach this incredible milestone.
