Middle school field trip — Middle schoolers go to high school and before you know it, they’re gone.

Have always said that our son’s Montessori Middle School class of only 10 students (7th-8th grade) (above photo) reminded me of the United Nations.

Photo: They went to New York City for a Montessori ‘United Nations’ simulation. What are the odds? They presented issues and proposed solutions to a broad assembly of fellow Middle Schoolers and adults.

lighthouse — Will bravery be your beacon?

Bravery is weird.

The world needs brave people.

Not sure i’ve ever seen it called out on someone’s resume or LinkedIn profile.

We often need to be brave for ourself or our family.

Never saw a class on how to be brave.

Have read a bunch of books and articles, and watched videos and movies about brave people, families, teams, countries, etc.

Ultimately, like most things, to get better you have to practice.

Micheal Eisner (Disney’s brand new CEO), my wife Cheryl, and i were hired on the same day in 1984 as full-time, permanent Disney Cast Members.

Then in 2005, Michael retires after 21 years.

Cheryl and i stayed on.

Me for another nine years.

Cheryl for another 15 years.
