Zappos Creating A “Disney Institute”?

This morning’s “Disney Institute” Googel Alert captured an article on Zappos legendary customer service.   Even going as far to say they might follow Disney Institute , and teach others their rabid passion for customer service.

Will they?

Here’s the article link: What Does Zappos.com Sell, Really ?

When it comes to customer service, whether you’re fanatical like Disney, or rabid like Zappos , it sure seems like a great idea to love your customers and make them feel like rock stars.

Carpe diem, jeff noel 🙂

jungle jeff Road Trip?

jungle jeff road trip?

Yes.  Where?

Niagara Falls Conference Center.

I travel a fair amount, as a professional speaker and as Family man.

There’s never enough time in my life to do all the things I want, or need, to do.  Therefore, it’s imperative that I prioritize.  Otherwise, I may accomplish something that doesn’t matter, or worse yet, not do something that really does.

Walt Disney is alive!

Walt Disney is alive!

Really?

April Fools.

Actually, he is alive.  Very alive.  Seriously.

He’s alive in the hearts, minds and spirits of most Cast Members.

You know why?

Because Disney nurtures, develops and grows their Disney Culture, purposefully.

If they weren’t methodical in how they work so relentlessly to manage and perpetuate their culture, guess what would happen?

Their culture wouldn’t be nurtured, developed and grown, by default.

Can you start to even remotely comprehend the staggering differences between a corporate culture that is purposeful versus one that is by default?

If you don’t know this by now, you should.  The purpose of this blog is to provide daily, small nuggets of leadership and career insight and wisdom.  Think of jungle jeff as a place to visit to get a daily reflections on excellence.

What do you get from this?

You get:  a nudge, an idea, energy, inspiration, motivation, a little spark, some excitement in your day, a reality check, a chance to dream big dreams.

You will also get some thought-provoking questions.  Yes, my style as a professional speaker is one of professional antagonist.  I’m aggressively unfancy, yet hard-wired to “Do Something Great” every time I see an audience of willing participants.

What do I get out of this?

The joy of serving others.

And maybe, the chance to help you and your organization, “Do something Great“!

I have one purpose, to make you happy by showing you a way to achieve your big organizational goals.

Make it a GREAT day, by design, because if you don’t, who will?  Carpe diem, jungle jeff   🙂

Can a speech change the world?

Can a speech change the world?

Should a speech change the world?

Does the world need to be changed?

Questions I think about all the time?  Seriously, ALL THE TIME.

Why?

Sitting with my laptop on, well,  on my lap, I can’t help but reflect on a recent speech.  And the first three questions at the top of this post?  That’s what I’m asking right now.

Based on responses from the audience, it sure felt like I shared hit the bulls-eye.

Studying Walt Disney like I have, I’ve learned that Walt had “quirks”.  He was obsessed with quality and doing the things that would most please the audience.

Ever heard the old cliche’, The acorn doesn’t fall far from the tree“?

A friend once told me, “Sayings only become cliche’s if they are true”.

It must be so.

It felt as if Walt was in my heart, mind and spirit this morning, and, the audience deserved nothing less than a world-class effort.

Walt Disney was a genius.

I’m humbled, and privileged to be able to attempt, in some small way, to give a speech, that could very well inspire, excite or motivate someone to change the world.

And the crazy thing is, my audience was one hundred children ages 5 – 11.  The other crazy thing – I was at our Church, preaching a homily.

Make today is a day to change the world, because if you don’t, who will?  Carpe diem, jungle jeff noel  🙂

It happens every time, doesn’t it?

It happens every time, doesn’t it?

In my hotel room, with few distractions, it’s easier to focus on what I’m going to say this morning.  And you know what?  It’s gonna happen.

It happens every time.

Seriously!

Predictably, there will be two camps.  There always are.

Two camps:

That’s too simple“.

I already know that“.

Let me remind you, please, after 35 years in business and 10 years as a professional speaker, I’ve become an expert.  I’ve spent 25 years here in Central Florida, almost daily being influenced by the presence of neighboring Walt Disney World – I can see the nightly fireworks and hear the steam trains from our home.

Here are two simple truths in quote form:

It’s not hard to do things as much as it is to simply decide to do something.  It’s the deciding that’s hard.  —  jeff noel

The concept is easy.  Any idiot can have a good idea.  What is hard is doing it.” — Christo

Like I always say about Walt Disney, “It’s not the Magic that makes it work, it’s the work that makes it Magic“.

So, what’s my main job when I speak?  To get everyone to make “Common Sense, Common Practice”!

Make it a GREAT day, because if you don’t, who will?  People are depending on you to be great today.  Be GREAT!  It’s common sense, eh?  Carpe diem, jungle jeff  🙂
