Recognize These Experts?

The big question today, “What makes a person an expert”?

Recognize these experts?  Here’s a small list to get you ready for today’s main post, which is separate.

  • Equality – Martin Luther King
  • Humility – Mother Teresa
  • Creativity – Walt Disney
  • WinningJohn Wooden
  • Independence – Ghandi
  • SpeedUsain Bolt

Okay, ready?  I’m going to tell you I’m an expert too.  Before I do, please read the PS below.

PS.  I’m heading to Helsinki in a few days to represent the United States in the Master’s Track & Field World Championships.  Boastful or not boastful, it all depends on the size of a person’s mind.  Carpe diem, jeff 🙂

What’s a BFO?

What’s a BFO?  It’s a Blinding Flash of the Obvious.

Recently, I was in the middle of a lively discussion on the things that keep employees from getting actively involved with finding solutions to improve Employee morale, Customer satisfaction and Financial results.

One person said, “Language barriers.  I may speak with an accent, but I don’t think with an accent”.

I loved hearing that.

Why?

Because it taught me something.  Something I already knew, but subconsciously forget.

I thanked that person later.

Walt Disney used to say, “I never know where our next great idea is going to come from”.

I was gently reminded of exactly what Walt meant, and how that applies leaders in his organization.

Teaching often seems so one sided.  It’s not.  I’m living proof.

Benefits of Corporate Blogs

What are the benefits of Corporate Blogs?  Many, to be sure.  So what are they?

That page is still being written.  It’s so new, to most people, that there hasn’t yet been enough time to make any concrete predictions.

However, I’ll go on record and predict this – every great organization will have a Corporate Blog(s).

Don’t believe it?  That’s okay.  I’m flying Delta this week.  In checking to see if my flights have wifi, I discovered something else.

Click here to see Delta’s Corporate Blog.  Pretty cool.

The business world is just getting warmed up.  And so am I.

Orlando Airport Wow Factor – Revisited

Last week, I posted about Michele, the TSA hostess, that delivered the Wow Factor to me while I was at the Orlando International Airport?

Amazing how when you tell a story, it can sometimes be a challenge for the listener to grasp the significance – you know, it’s like one of those, “You had to be there” moments.

Well, virtually every time I travel, the lines are incredibly efficient and well run. Every once in awhile, for all of us, we are challenged in some way.

When I returned from my trip and was passing through the security area, in the opposite direction, there was an unusually long line.   It was at that moment, that Michele’s small act of kindness really hit home for me.

PS.  Today, I’m on the road again, to help make the business world a better place, in spite of these turbulent times.

Jungle Cruise You Tube Funny

Jungle Cruise You Tube Funny.  Funny is as funny does, or something like that.

And now for something completely different.  A friend sent this to me, knowing how many times I delivered the Walt Disney Jungle Cruise Attraction spiel, back in 1982.

Here’s the You Tube video – If you’re ready to be amused, click here.

First there was Sunday’s unusually casual post, and now this?  What’s happening?

Walt Disney said, “Laughter is no enemy to learning.  We should use every gag and every prop at our disposal”.

Words to live by……words to live by……
