TEDx Talk in Kuwait

Disney TEDx Speaker
On average, overnight success takes about a decade.

TEDx Talk in Kuwait is being proposed for late April by my agent, Thinking Heads.

Here are some notes for the proposal:

Assumptions:

  • 12-16 minute speech
  • Clear, concise, and compelling idea
  • Universal application
  • Easy and immediate implementation
  • Inspiring

Thesis:

  • Personal and professional vibrancy is overwhelming because our goal is incorrect and going the extra mile to reach the goal is a flawed proposition

World Challenge:

  • To simplify and scale exceptional service for everyone we encounter, every day

World Solution:

  • Unveil the blinding flash of the obvious that aiming for satisfaction is dangerous
  • Revealing the paradox of going the extra mile by illustrating going the extra inch

Bonus:

  • Issue a 72-hour challenge for the audience to implement the ridiculously easy solution of going the extra inch and to teach it to others

Ultimate outcome:

  • Make our world an exponentially happier and more vibrant place not only for the recipient but also for the giver

Huddle up

Disney Institute trainers
My final Super Bowl engagement was Super Bowl 48 in New York/New Jersey. This is part of our team rehearsing (and having some fun).

Yesterday while prepping for a speech and searching for an older photo to use, i stumbled upon lots of Disney Institute photos.

The distraction was fun, of course.

The speech is a month away and there’s no ticking-clock pressure to stay focused.

Worth mentioning too that this speech preparation is a more concentrated effort to increase the use of photos and to have fewer slides with words. Additionally, any slide with words is being reevaluated to pare it to three words or less.

8 Keynote Speaking Tips

8 Keynote Speaking Tips:

  1. Ask a question you can’t answer.
  2. Share one thing no one knows.
  3. Pause for 10 seconds.
  4. Share a genuinely emotional story.
  5. Don’t overload your slides.
  6. Answer questions on the spot.
  7. Always repeat audience questions.
  8. Always run short.

There are more, but these are great for now.

You won’t believe what you can do

Disney Institute Keynote Speakers
Found this yesterday while clearing older business clothes from the closet. In a suit jacket pocket. The figure in the old Disney Institute logo is named Ted.

You won’t believe what you can do.

Ted goes from trying to soaring in the Disney Institute logo.

Go the Extra Inch

go the extra inch
Yesterday i decided it would be prudent to buy this domain name since my phrase is becoming more popular. On the walk home from the gym, i dictated a reminder message.

Go the Extra Inch.

Dot com.

Done.

www.gotheextrainch.com

There is no website for the domain. It’s sitting and waiting in the hosting account until i decide if it will become a WordPress site.
