Yesterday, asking, “Does the thought of heading into your day today give you butterflies?”, it created a reflective moment.
And perhaps it’s one of those elusive gifts we can not catch or we unconsciously avoid.
If you were in a crowd and someone asked, “Who here has the coolest job in the world?“, would you raise your hand?
PS. Easiest and coolest are usually diametrically opposed.

Sometimes it’s so hard not to keep track of progress. We measure, count, chart, dream, and a host of other things when (great) progress is being made. Right?
Can’t recall writing about reaching the 1,000 post, or 2,000 post milestones.
But to skip noticing the 3,000 blog post milestone?
So, this is post 2,999.
Who would have ever thought this day would come?
For those who don’t know, this was neither a goal nor even remotely achievable.

Was talking to a really smart Fortune 100 executive recently, someone I’ve know for over a decade. We don’t speak regularly, but when we do, we each walk away with something good.
He shared an insight about knowledge and time. Today’s emerging workforce has all the knowledge the world has ever known at their beck and call. One click takes them there. Instantly. We didn’t have enough time to debate, but the insight for me is this:
Knowledge is no substitute for time. Time is like money. The more you have, the wealthier you are. Time, well spent, buys you experience, something knowledge alone can not offer. The compound interest of time nets wisdom.
Wisdom comes from experience, and experience comes from making mistakes.
The long way is the shortcut to success.
