The business world is changing in such amazingly cool ways.

The local Orlando WordPress community led by David Laietta, is experimenting with flexible meeting space and flexible times.

Each meeting we attend is like another step in the journey of 1,000 miles.

Patience is strength.

So is determination.

Will 2015 be your our best year ever?

Epcot Christmas Tree 2014

He’s not going to be the person everyone’s expected him to be anymore.

Heard this sound bite last night.

Freaky.

Kinda spine tingly.

Christmas.

A coming.

And then there’s New Years.

Un-freakin’ real.

Hope you are moving forward every day.

That’s the secret.

The long way is the short cut.

Will it be the best year ever?

Kind of a self-fulfilling prophecy isn’t it?

We see what we want to see.

Fun is in the work freedom

Disney Institute Leadership Speakers

Fun is in the work freedom.

Break free from the leadership porn addiction. And yes, you would be an extremely rare bird if you aren’t addicted.

The prolific use of inspiring leadership and success quotes is detrimental and addicting.

We can’t get enough.

We need to can and should break free and have a healthy, inspiring relationship with ourselves.

There is magic in formulating your own quotes, made from your personal convictions and experience, not from someone else’s “life movie”.

Lead like you mean it.

When the rubber meets the road

Motivational Speakers Orlando

(photo: Annual Singing Christmas Trees concert, 2014.)

Big events don’t fall from the sky. Massive effort is required. Trust, accessibility, values, and vision. They all work together for the greater good.

Couple calls and meetings (in this order as the day unfolded):

  1. Pitched crazy idea to Middle School teacher to enlist her student’s help, teach them, and fund raise.
  2. Recruiting consultants for work beyond MLC’s catalytic keynote speeches.
  3. Requested permission to use large, not-for-profit venue.
  4. Put out feelers for a go-to meeting planner.

Today will be more of the same.

PS. Here’s a real time (Mar 27) update to the above post written Dec 17: None of the four “great ideas” panned out. Paying engagements were contracted that made numbers 1 & 3 dramatically less pressing. Discovered that i do not wish to partner with anyone else on content creation (as of now). And #4 is premature – a great resource is available when and if the time becomes right.

It’s a habit either way

Orlando Professional Keynote Speakers

It’s a habit either way, so why not pick the better one?

The desk attendants at the Gym have an insidiously less desirable habit than the one that’s a no-brainer.

As you walk in or walk out, the delivery of, “Have a great workout” and “Have a great day” is missing something important.

Timing.

When they delay two seconds the customer walks past and now has their back turned. The only way the customer can genuinely acknowledge the kind words is to turn around.

Solution? Yes. Make it a habit to do the same thing, just three seconds sooner, as you’re facing each other.

Every organization has a culture.

Either by design or by default.
