Toured this Cottage yesterday in between Guest departure and arrival.

i have a dream of hosting an intimate, transformational, and fun “conference” in Glacier National Park.

Just a dream at this point.

Living the dream

It’s not the Magic that makes it work, it’s the work that makes it Magic. Yesterday at the Mt. Cannon/Mt. Clements saddle. Mt. Oberlin is the dark mountain before the Garden Wall.

On the occasional trail conversations that go deeper about why i visit so often and for so long, fellow hikers remark, “You’re living the dream.”

First, totally aware.

Second, i always remind the commentors that i’m 60 years old and that it’s taken a lifetime to arrive at this lifestyle.

Great leaders instill confidence

Garmin GPS — At 8,616′, i found shelter behind a rock and ate lunch at 11:00 AM.

mountain side — Looking left (East) from my lunch seat. Not an optical illusion. It’s that steep.

The cairn (rock-pile marker) was there when i got there.

Great leaders instill confidence.

Stacy and Steve stumbled upon me eating lunch at 8,616′.

With the super strong winds, i was uncomfortable enough to stop ascending, eat lunch, and then descend rather than push 500′ more to the summit.

Stacy and Steve were summiting for the 13th time. Stacy spread her parent’s ashes at the summit three and eight years ago respectively.

i knew right away that they’d be great guides (leaders).

It was a no-brainer to continue ascending.

My gut was accurate.

Glacier HQ

American Flag — Last night during a walk through the small business community. My dark blue Tiny Home is in lower right corner.

Main room, left, bathroom is the separate and smaller room, right. All window blinds up to maximize the light and the views.

Glacier HQ is what i’m calling the Tiny Home.

The small table easily doubles in size.

All the shades are pulled up.

Natural light (and darkness) fills the two small rooms.

The private bathroom is a separate building 15 steps away.

The heaters in every room work well.

Desk is set up for success.

Yee-haw!

Innovation doesn’t mean invention

Many Glacier Hotel is a mile East of Swiftcurrent Motor Inn.

Dead center is the crevasse we used to reach Shangrila two days ago.

This photo contains a clue to a possible solution.

Floor seating was all that was available. It was perfect.

Wanted to walk out to the car before it got dark.

Innovation doesn’t mean invention.

Swiftcurrent’s wifi was down yesterday afternoon and evening so i drove over to Many Glacier Hotel.

You must be a registered Guest to access Wi-Fi.

If you remember two days ago i met the Continental Divide Trail hikers, “Poles” hacked the Swiftcurrent wifi password with a simple hack.

i tried it last night at Many Glacier.

It worked.

Crazy.

Cool.

A decent “service recovery” for missing half a day at Swiftcurrent.
