Keeping vultures off Disney buildings is more challenging than it looks.

Best Disney University Speakers
Yesterday began at DU and ended at DU. My Disney Institute Colleague Bob, is leaving Disney and Disney University for a huge opportunity at Universal Orlando Resort. Yesterday was Bob’s final day.

Disney University Consultants
i missed Bob’s going away party at DU two days ago because i had already committed to the opportunity to benchmark Doug Lipp in Illinois.

Disney is Family.

Disney is famous.

Disney is world-class.

My friend Bob is one of only a handful of Disney leaders who’ve taught at both Disney Institute and Disney University.

The plan to share his final lunch at DU’s Stage Door Cafe fell through, so i arrived at DU to visit with him at his office after 4pm.

Take a career walk on your Disney side

Disney Institue Keynote Speakers
Used the Disney Institute umbrella to keep the sun off my head on yesterday’s walk to Magic Kingdom.

Finding joy and inspiration in talking to anyone, i never hesitate to ask questions.

Me: Who came up with the idea to create hidden Mickeys using mulch piles?

Her: I did.

Me: For real?

Me: What’s your name?

Her: Emily.

Me: Wow, This is so cool. i love what you’ve done.

We continued to talk a few more minutes and then we both moved on with our day.

Walt Life

Walt Life
A play on the Salt Life franchise?

Mary Poppins
Last night, Palm Sunday, was movie night

Cheryl has been working at Disneyland the past eight days, with six more to go.

Chapin and i have been to both Churches twice. Yesterday, Palm Sunday, was our third visit to each. Wanted to test the environment on one of the biggest Christian weekends of the year.

Serendipitously while getting lunch, we stopped at a red light and caught the Walt Life decal. Later last night our three first choices for movies all failed because they were Blue Ray and we don’t have a Blue Ray player.

Our fourth choice was Mary Poppins, which happened to have an old-fashioned DVD accompanying the Blue Ray version.

Chapin had seen Mary Poppins but was so young he couldn’t remember.

It’s my favorite live action Disney movie. UP is my favorite animated feature film, with original Lion King a close 2nd.

The final sentence is an example of vision

If you watch this video, listen carefully to the final sentence – it’s a brilliant example of vision.

What you can’t appreciate about Disney if you never worked on the inside, is that she doesn’t even know she did what she did.

She just did it.

Why?

Because it’s the Disney culture to think like that, without even thinking about it.
