There’s a fair amount of doubt in ourselves as leaders.

Perhaps it is the delusional that are best suited to lead.

Maybe they are too blind to see what a zealot they’ve become.

And if they can’t see it, it doesn’t frighten them.

Maybe?

Spent 30 years on the front line, eventually understanding the front line is where joy reigns.

There’s no happiness in the future. Yet we bank on it anyway.

What the heck?

Seriously.

Ask yourself to prove this doesn’t apply to you.

Self reflection?

Look around at the people above you on the org-chart. Are they ridiculously happy?

(Pause for the reflection and crickets.)

It’s why all personal efforts to get promoted began being shunned in 2004.

The Internet has changed everything and made it even more difficult (distracting information overload) to focus with a laser beam on the target, which is to deliver uncompromising business excellence.

At a packed conference, or in a corporate meeting room, who should be the deepest thinker in the room?

The speaker.

The speaker will never be intimate with how your industry works, but they darn sure better be intimate with the most powerful business questions every organization should be constantly asking themselves.
