Boss, Please Check Your Watch

Yesterday’s message was a wake-up call for employees. I mean, duh, we all should be giving 110%.

Today, Saturday, we can flip the equation around.

Employers, are you giving 110%?

We can confidently predict that Employee satisfaction scores are at or near record lows. Can’t we?

So much energy is spent (rightfully so) on survival, sales and minimizing loss.

I mean, when was the last time your boss said, “Thank you, you’re indispensable”?

It’s grueling. Hey boss, please check your watch.

What time is it?

Time to be worried your best people are looking for alternatives.

What Time Is It?

For many, including me, the traditional work day is over. That’s what time it is. Quitting time.

Did you give 110% today, even though it was Friday and you no doubt had a very long, trying week?

If you do not love what you do, you most likely didn’t give 100%, let alone anything extra.

What time is it?

Time for your employer to find your replacement?

Leadership And Birthday Presents

So Simple, Even A 10-Year Old...
So Simple, Even A 10-Year Old...

Excellent Leadership requires a few basic fundamentals:

  • A clear, concise and compelling vision
  • A balanced approach
  • Simple, key, repeatable messages
  • Crystal clear expectations
  • Accountability
  • Continuous improvement
  • Fun

Last night we gave our son “his best birthday present ever”.

He said, “In your hand or in your pocket”.

Cheryl said, “Where did you learn that?”

“From the best”, he said.

Long before yesterday, I’ve been preaching, “In your hand or in your pocket”.

You lose an iPhone, and you become very unhappy, very fast.

You dilute or lose your leadership vision and, well, you get the picture.

Worst Time Management Advice Ever

What Makes For Good Advice?
What Makes For Good Advice?

The worst time management advice ever invented?

To prioritize your schedule.

No seriously. Ill advice.

Poison.

Far better to schedule your priorities.

If you don’t understand this, go get some fresh air and try this again later.

Unless you’ve got something more important to do.

Don’t Bother Me

Sure Hope It's Just Make Believe
Sure Hope It's Just Make Believe

Please don’t bother me with bad news, I’m on vacation.

We just got a new puppy four days ago, and our son’s birthday is tomorrow.

So being on vacation, I’ve had the opportunity to catch some of the ABC Evening News.

In the past day or two, ABC News reported we may be heading to another recession.

Is that possible?

Batten down the hatches.
