Been Tested For This Virus Yet?
Yesterday I referenced an (obscene) infectious virus that is plaguing the world, the corporate world especially.
It’s insidious and devastating.
My guess right now, at this very moment, you’re confused and wondering what I’m talking about.
That’s fair. And perfect.
It’s the perfect storm, isn’t it? This pervasive lack of recognition amongst people everywhere. The sad thing is, now that you know what I’m talking about, you are shaking you head, “Yep, he’s right”.
“What to do?”, is a question you may not have an answer for. But you know me, I do.
The answer?
Go to the far end of the sick world, and be the cure. Make it YOUR daily habit to say nice things to people.
You won’t win any employee of the month awards, but you will be living with integrity. Isn’t that enough?
Should We Laugh Or Cry?
It’s funny how yesterday’s jungle jeff post, completely unknowingly, was a prelude to the day ahead.
Looking back 24 hours ago, I’m not sure whether I should laugh or cry, because there’s an idea virus infecting the world. Ever feel like that?
Some say there is an art to making people feel like valuable assets. But the virus is weakening these artists.
Rule number one – Life is hard. Get used to it.
Have a nice “day-to-day“.
Toughen Up Children
Are you on Facebook? One of my friends, blessed with a higher education and a serious career, just joined Facebook a few days ago. This morning, she had 8 Friends.
Not everyone is on Facebook. That is, not everyone over 30. Nearly everyone under 30 is.
This update came through last night and and I followed a comment link to 11 rules kids will not learn in school, but should.
We often hear adults complain about the younger generations, and that children need to toughen up.
Well guess who influenced these children?
Maybe we should be saying, “Toughen up adults. Lead the way, don’t get in the way.”
What do you think?
Think about it. I’m heading over to jeffnoel.com
PS. Rule #1 – Life is not fair.
Routine Maintenance
Most people really want to do their best. Probably a remnant of our basic caveman ancestry to figure out how to stay alive.
But the fear of being eaten is long gone, and we drift, unintentionally, toward the abyss of going through the motions.
I often wonder if the plank others see in my eye is as big as the one I see in theirs.
