Turn the great money down, it’s not worth it

In my business, i steer clear of desperate organizations, even when they are willing to pay a premium.

Why?

Because it’s just not worth it.

And by the way, it’s very tempting – for about five seconds.

Weirdly, the same feeling is seeping into my personal life.

Friends, Family – some of them are digging themselves into a hole so deep, i don’t have a clue how to help them.

My focus is listed on my business cards…

Often in business, our decision is driven by price.

Sometimes, like yesterday, the price i’ve come to expect wasn’t available.

Two choices.

Buy now at the higher price.

Wait and hope the price drops.

Here’s the catch.

Waiting may limit the flight choices and the price may increase even more.

It felt great to rewrite the old script that said, don’t pay the higher price.

The new script says, make a decision now and move on.

Unmade decisions pile up and overwhelm.

Decisiveness comes with a price – the speed of business, and sanity.

  2. Choose to wait, wish, and hope.

There aren’t any world-class excuses to justify not changing

The other day at Office Depot while buying an office chair, i noticed a shopping bag. The message: i believe it’s possible every single day if you are intentional.

 

Cultural transformation is challenging because everyone agrees that positive change is not only recommended but smart.

Just because it’s a smart thing to do doesn’t mean it will get done.

Especially if it requires a different routine and habit than we’re used to.

At the end of the day, there aren’t any world-class excuses to justify not changing.

Ran into a Disney Institute colleague yesterday. Friends can see their friend’s blind spots easily, and our friends easily see ours. Easily.
