Plan, don’t panic

Started Googling “dark circle in eye” at 640am today. iPhone Google search last night was uninspired…just wanted to fall asleep and wake up today feeling better.

Knew the Retina Doc’s office would be answering calls starting at 8:00AM.

Knew our local Eye Doc’s office opens at 9:00 AM.

Knew i’d drive to wherever necessary to get a clinical determination.

Didn’t know how long a walk-in wait would be. Planned for a long wait. Packed snacks and drinks in the car.

Oasis of quiet, at work

Looking back at Pollock Mountain and the Continental Divide’s Eastern (left side) cliff edge. Not sure if Steve or Stacy snapped this pic.

Good and very good aren’t good enough.

If excellence is achievable, why wouldn’t you achieve it?

Ps. Excellence is always achievable.

The key is proper motivation. You’re in charge of that as your CMO, Chief Motivation Officer.

Group pic on top of Pollock. My second time. Both Pollock summits have been with Steve and Stacy. The first time, it was so windy that Stacy stayed maybe 100′ from top to avoid the risk of being blown off. True story. Steve and i never stood upright the first time. We stayed five minutes tops because of the wind-chill factor.

To be a rock, a steady and sure-footed traveler through life’s high’s and low’s, you have to walk the talk.

The past week there have been hallucinations that look like doubt – the doubt that is human nature. The doubt that comes from inexperience. The doubt that comes from low self-confidence.

Like regret, doubt sucks.

Today’s blog writing is helping me coach myself.

Theory is worthless without committed, consistent action.

Common sense, common practice.

That’s how you slay the un-slayable.

Looks good on paper.

22-second video: Didn’t intend to arrive near nightfall, however an airline delay created this late-day moment.
10-second video: Surreal to be in this present moment.

The future is calling and i must go.

The reality of the eye challenge is that the cause is simply from aging.

Like human hair turning grey, aging eventually sees to it that everyone’s hair turns grey.

This is a new phase of life for me.

A beginner, so to speak.

A rookie.

Uncharted territory.

The future is calling and i must go. (hat tip to John Muir for his, “The mountains are calling and I must go.”

Ps. Hey jeff, happy hiking.
