Snap, a blooper

9-second video….from 2021’s Mt Oberlin’s ascent. This is Jody’s first time summiting Oberlin. It is my 22nd.

What was supposed to be a photo, became this video. And in rolling spontaneously with it, i commented on the reality that Jody is in a tee-shirt and i am bundled in seven layers.

Mountain mind readers

10-second video…from Piegan Pass…Mt Siyeh far left and Going-to-the-Sun mountain, right foreground…on the final right edge is Piegan Mountain’s eastern side.

Jody Maberry and i had the entire mountainside to ourselves. We began our descent from Piegan Pass and briefly stopped to take a few panoramic photos.

Without discussion, we called an audible and dropped our packs and began exploring. He in one direction (veered right but level), me in another (right but up).

We spoke no words for how long or how far we’d explore. In hindsight, not ideal. But it worked out perfectly.

What final scene script

3-second Grizzly video

Perhaps 200 meters from Logan Pass on the descent, immediately knew there was a wildlife encounter just beginning to go down.

No idea what type of wildlife, but when a Park Ranger is on the scene, it’s gonna be good.

And it was.

Had a front row seat.

Felt like the Universe was saying thank you Jeff for your kind appreciation for the show we love to put on every Summer.

Be bold enough to look

Short video: September snow. Not many see it. Why? It’s the far end of the tourist season. Perhaps one day away from closing for the next nine months.

Be bold enough to look…

Foolish.

Egotistical.

Driven.

Visionary.

Brave.

Fun.

Late September at The Boat House, 2017 or 2018. Had daily six-hour roundtrip drive from here to Logan Pass. Wildfires closed the West side. No accommodations were available on Eastside.
