And the past month or so, coordinating with two other classmate high-achievers to nail down all the logistical stuff no one ever thinks about. Yet without her, Mark, and Joanne coordinating all of the weekend events, this bird would never leave the ground.

Now that you’ve officially retired, work

Now that i’ve officially retired, we have instantaneously signed up for a fixed income.

i’m going to Walt Disney World, work

The receipt is SOP (standard operating procedure) for me. This is 930am this morning at the airport.

Funny receipt signature — Perfect example of the extra inch. This is 950pm (last night) at the Hilton. Ps. One glass for me, one for Richard (one of the event’s Master of Ceremonies).

Atlanta airport sign — Got here on schedule. Nice.

Last night i accentuated the extra inch for employees.

Why?

Hundreds (all) of the company’s top leaders sat in the room i was in.

The client’s executive assistant spent two-plus years as a WDW Cast Member.

Ps. What’s not to admire about Disney.

Game day, home

Weather app and Screen Shot — Eleven hours after i awoke (now 4pm) it’s 4 degrees with a ‘feels like’ of -17.

Haven’t been outside in three days.

Why?

i’m hyper-allergic to cold.

Thank goodness there’s a skybridge from the Hilton to the Convention Center.

Be predictably unpredictable

Disney Customer Service keynote speaker in an office. Yep. Me. Sitting less than one mile from Walt Disney World. In my home’s “office”.

Your personal brand.

It’s the first thing people think or say about you after hearing your name or seeing your face.

Brands can have multiple layers.

Being predictably unpredictable is a layer i strive to perpetuate.

.think .differently is the top personal “business” layer.

i study what humanity generally expects in different spaces where i reside. In this example, it’s Keynote Speaking.

Have delivered thousands of speeches and watched thousands of other speakers.

Knowing the Keynote Speaker stereotypes and audience stereotypes, i experiment with simple (and easy) ways to do surprising and delightful things.

Often, the audience delight is from the insight that the surprise was intentionally delivered for their enhanced experience and learning.
