Few things in life are as powerful as a great reputation.

Few leaders (at any level) are held accountable with 360-degree anonymous surveys because few can wrap their arms around the notion that revenue and leadership reputation are inextricably linked – in good times and in bad.

On April Fool’s Day 2009, jeff noel began writing five daily, differently-themed blogs (on five different sites). It was to be a 100-day self-imposed “writer’s bootcamp”, in preparation for writing his first book. He hasn’t missed a single day since.

Personal reputation can be finicky

Even Mom’s cycling on the sidewalk.

When i got home, i Googled sidewalk bicycling.

Bicycling on Florida sidewalks
Relieved.

Personal reputation can be finicky.

Someone (keeping him anonymous) told me sidewalk bicycling is illegal in Florida.

His comment came after i described how much and how far i was bicycling when i stopped running.

At the time, i didn’t think to ask him about all the school kids doing it.

Reputation

Your Promise

This is your vision in a pair of work clothes. It’s your unifying goal.

Delivering Your Promise

You must identify every single touch point and then consistently deliver your Promise all day, every day.

Connecting Emotionally

It’s simple, emotion trumps everything. And exceeding expectations trumps meeting expectations.

Brand reputation is the first thing your customers and employees think of when they see you or hear your name. Your brand is your most important asset. And it should not surprise you that your organization (and personal) culture gives birth to what your people (and you) think and do, without thinking – your employee’s (and your) cumulative behaviors become your brand.

(Emotions trump everything.)
