To an outsider (me), this looks good.

Tuesday, March 14, 2023. The pouring begins, six-inches deep, removing the need for rebar and wire mesh reinforcement (according to Shawn, the drainage contractor supervisor). Shawn was not here the entire day.
8-second video: Let the pouring begin.
18-second video: Almost done.

Hard work doesn’t equal excellence. It can, but it isn’t automatic.

Hard work is recognizable. Flaws are too. So is excellence.

Know what i tell you is from decades of experience. None of my success happened quickly. None of my failures lasted long.

It takes a long time to become an overnight success. And once you’re on top, everyone is gunning for you. Manage your success against your attitude, health, peace, get-to-do, and priorities.

Disney Magic

It’s not the Magic that makes it work, it’s the work that makes it Magic.

Mary Flynn (my Disney Institute colleague and former Hallmark Greeting Cards writer)

It is a blessing to have started at Disney Institute (DI) in 1999 after 15 years serving in Disney front-line leadership operations.

Why?

First, i was at Walt Disney World (WDW) (hired 1982) before the “Disney Decade” (1990-2000) and lived through WDW’s exponential, and transformational, growth.

Second, i joined a boutique, small (10 facilitators and one ops manager/leader), unknown group of DI business leaders who’s sole responsibility was (still is) to share the ‘Business behind the Magic‘ to ‘outsiders’.

Finally, a couple years after joining DI, DI went on a growth trajectory that gave me a Disney and leadership education like no other. Someday, there may be a Disney Business Books series inspired from this Disney education.
