On April Fool’s Day 2009, jeff noel began writing five daily, differently-themed blogs (on five different sites). It was to be a 100-day self-imposed “writer’s bootcamp”, in preparation for writing his first book. He hasn’t missed a single day since.

The dude owned the place

The dude owned the place.

And he owned it because he told himself as he was heading to work, “I own this place”.

Leaders must develop the ability to master these five unconventional tactics

whatever you are, be a good one – abe lincoln

We must demonstrate mastery of these five unconventional tactics before we graduate from manager to leader:

1. discern the most important point of every critical theory
2. be world class at focus and discipline
3. paint a clear, concise, and compelling picture of the future
4. demonstrate (invisibly) world class habits that deliver world class results
5. be the model for work life balance and wellness

This month jeff noel is encouraging Mid Life Celebration readers to follow all five daily blogs about work life balance. To go in an instant from this money (career) blog to the HQ blog, just click -> go to Next Blog

We All Want The Big 3

Life: Watch it, March in it, or Lead it?
Life: Watch it, March in it, or Lead it?

Stumbled upon an RSA Animate video featuring Dan Pink. Have you heard of this guy? Have you seen his stuff on You Tube?

It blew my mind yesterday. The three things I wrote down from the ten minute video? The three things we all want, and the three things most organizational leadership structure neglects:

  1. Autonomy – shedding status quo
  2. Mastery – our urge to get better
  3. Purpose – deep desire to make a difference

Posted three times here at jungle jeff yesterday. This may not be today’s final post either. I hope you feel energized today. It’s your responsibility.
