Who’s your leadership role model?

Are they balanced in all five of life’s big buckets, or do they excel in several?

Look for balance.

Balance is the key.

Mind, body, spirit, work, and home.

Neglect or underperforming in one area exerts suffering on the other four.

Neglect or underperforming in two areas and you are exponentially suffering in the other three.

Heaven forbid you excel in only two areas.

No one talks about this because it’s so pervasively avoided that avoidance is the only medication to the painful reality that everyone thinks balance is a myth.

And when i say everyone, i mean everyone but the outliers, the misfits, the round pegs in a square hole.

Disney Institute trainers — My final Super Bowl engagement was Super Bowl 48 in New York/New Jersey. This is part of our team rehearsing (and having some fun).

Yesterday while prepping for a speech and searching for an older photo to use, i stumbled upon lots of Disney Institute photos.

The distraction was fun, of course.

The speech is a month away and there’s no ticking-clock pressure to stay focused.

Worth mentioning too that this speech preparation is a more concentrated effort to increase the use of photos and to have fewer slides with words. Additionally, any slide with words is being reevaluated to pare it to three words or less.

Well, Jody’s biggest observation was one i had forgotten about. Jody shared how i asked him to allow me to do an approach to podcasting that may fail, when we first discussed how we’d approach working together for the first time.

To me, that isn’t noteworthy.

i mean, why would you ever not being willing to fail?

Failure isn’t fatal (yes, there are exceptions, especially in war) and embracing failure is the only way to flourish creatively.

Ron Logan Disney Legend — Ron Logan, an official Disney Legend, spoke at Give Kids The World last night. Family took a Lyft home and i drove our vehicle directly to the event and made it there 10 minutes early, even having time to get a drive-thru meal.
