The crowning achievement of leadership

Disney Leadership Speakers

(Note: Just as this post was being completed, the photo above went live on LinkedIn, thanks to Bob Stewart from Georgia.)

Perhaps the crowning achievement of leadership is being able to provide others with the same type of game changing opportunities that we were blessed with.

In the giving we receive.

Servant leadership.

Looks good on paper, but can we do it without thinking about it?

Workplace (and personal) culture is what we think and do, without thinking.

Being intentional is the most important characteristic determining whether your personal culture works for you or against you.

You are the CEO of You, Inc.

We know this and respond appropriately

Orlando Based Inspirational Speaker jeff noel

(photo: iPhone screen shot… the magic (aka passion) is drained out of us with, “Quit acting like a child… grown up, etc”)

Funny isn’t it, the way we dream of change and yet do the same routine in spite of knowing better?

Can you picture the fictional Ostrich sticking it’s head in the sand in order to hide?

This is (literally) sickening sad to any soul who views their job as art. Who treats creating magic as a privilege.

How can anyone desire this and not take action to not schlug through their day, day after day?

The triumph is in walking away. Walking away from mediocrity and average.

But how does one decide to simply walk away. Easy. Take the risk.

Taking risks is risky.

So is playing it safe.

We know this.

And do nothing.

Who’s in charge of managing your regret?

Leaders (and we are all leaders) have a lot on their plates.

Today, even before one thing is solved or one victory is gained, two or more new challenges will be queued up clamoring for our attention.

Creating a legacy with the 2014 Glacier trip just days ago. And in a couple days creating additional legacy at the other end of life… Cedarbrook Brookview.

Who’s to say how long an 88 and 91 year old will Grace us with their presence.

You are in charge of minimizing regret in your life.

Think things through.

Then do something.

We are born as natural entrepreneurs

Commencement Speech
The first paragraph is profound (no need to read the rest). Author unknown.

All humans are born entrepreneurs. And this has been so all the way back to the beginning when we lived in caves.

We were – and still are – the owners of our existence and had to find entrepreneurially creative ways to survive each day.

Being an entrepreneur is not something reserved for special or talented people.

It’s reserved for anyone wanting to upgrade their cave.
