Day 4 East Glacier, work

Lobby view from just outside my hotel room door. Last night 8:30 PM.

In the absence of the traditional, first day hike, this opens up a plethora of choices that i hadn’t thought about until last night.

Context: Between the rental car, the U-Haul storage, the grocery store, and the drive, i spent a few more hours between the airport and the hotel than i thought i’d spend. Not complaining. Just teeing up the next post.

Day 3 East Glacier, work

Could take up to two hours. You never know until you start the drive.

Today’s flights are different than previous years.

Have historically tried to be in Kalispell by 200pm. Mainly to facilitate these arrival day logistics: rental car, groceries, one to two hour drive to Lodge Hotel, and dinner before restaurant closes. And possibly watching the sunset.

Day 2 East Glacier, work

If you try to modify anything on Expedia, you essentially have to delete what you’ve done and start all over. So if you book far in advance and get a great price and then close in, have a challenge and need to make a change, you have to start over and pay current, in-season, exorbitant price differences.

Yesterday could not have gone any better than it did.

So grateful.

Leadership traits i’ve spent a lifetime honing: creativity, optimism, patience, surrender, faith, gratefulness, appreciation, empathy, and humor.

That’s a list of human/leadership traits that never fails.

No one i’ve ever met dislikes any of those.

It took about eight hours to checkin and retrieve boarding passes. An hour later, this cancellation message.

Quickly found an alternative. Flights are the same (yay!) but easiest is two days from today.

Was hoping to fly out tomorrow, a one day delay.

Nope.

Not available.

So, it’s a two-day delay.

This complicates things and creates a travel itinerary domino effect.
