Preacher’s Golden Rule

Disney keynote speaker jeff noel doing a snow angel
Recently fell down and am so grateful to not have done any damage. To anything.

Preacher’s Golden Rule: Only preach what you practice.

dad

Preach to me what you know from your experience.

Please do not preach to me with you theory, dreams, dogma.

If you don’t consistently, constantly do what you are preaching, why are you telling others to behave that way?

Asking for a friend.

Shaman at work

5-second video: Betty White was a “Rock Star”. She’s the only “celebrity” i ever asked to get a photo with. You probably know the story of how Cheryl and i took Luther (our 1st of 3 Yellow Labs) to see Betty in her Suite, at her request.

Later in the day, while chilling in the back yard, pulled up a chair in the shade and watched the “Nature Channel”.

My method is simple. It’s compelling. And it makes everyone’s life better.

dad

It’s common for potential (and existing) clients to think Disney gurus are miracle workers.

That’s like thinking Lebron James could make any person an NBA All-Star, or Taylor Swift could make any person the next “Taylor Swift”.

It doesn’t work like that.

And i know you know that, but when people are paying you for your help, and you have a rockstar heritage, well, people forget what’s obvious.

Desperate people want miracles.

Why?

Because they’ve been trying to not be desperate for a long time. Far too long. Painfully long.

Now they are simply irrational.

Money can’t buy you love.

Money can’t buy you an instant solution.

But money can buy you a business shaman.

It’s your only hope.

Pro-tip when hiring a business shaman: Be prepared to do the reps. Like your organization’s life depends on it. Because it does.

3-day weekend at work

Two men at Disney World
Just after sunrise, it’s hard to not squint. Rene has every weekend off now. Maybe some day that will be my story too.

A 3-day weekend at work never hurt anyone.

Intention deficit disorder.

When you cannot be intentional and have no idea you don’t know how.

Intention abundance catalyst.

When you are habitually intentional, which increases your opportunities to make dramatic leaps in your art (career).

What obsesses you at work?

Person on raft on mountain lake
Perhaps this is impossible for me personally. Perhaps not. Time will tell. It’s been a goal since first seeing the photo years ago. Dupe photo is intentional.
post it note with life insight
Action. Impossible action. Why? Too many distractions. Too much fear. Creativity scarcity. Unclear priorities.

What obsesses me at work? Impossibilities.

dad

On an executive coaching call today, i asked the executive what she obsesses about.

She loved the question, by the way.

i asked her to ask me.

(already had my answer teed up)

.thinking .differently

On my daily couple-hour walk today, reflected on the answer and asked myself, “Is that your final answer?”

Gut said, “No.”

So the renewed exploration began while walking.

Seems like vibrancy is a byproduct of .thinking .differently

Pushing my discussion with myself…

Seems like ‘impossibilities’ is the byproduct of vibrancy, and, perhaps the ultimate product.
