East Glacier day 2, work

Glacier National Park in September
GNP. Near East Glacier. Found a way to get closer.

You can observe a lot by watching.

The photo above is a super special moment in time.

Someone (or some people) meticulously crafted this insanely complicated rock sculpture.

One small to medium rock at a time.

The sculpture is three feet tall. Incredibly, magically, balanced on the low end of a steep rock ridge.

The year after i photographed this and went back to see it again, it disappeared.

Someone managed to get past the barbed wire fence and tipped it over, and when it fell, it was just more rock with the same infinite amount of rocks. And no one ever knows that it was a sculpture meticulously sculptured in an unbelievable way.

Ps. There’s always a possibility that weather, high winds, snow, ice, tipped it over.

No one in my circle will ever know.

But i’m massively grateful for having a chance to climb over the fence and get close enough to take the picture you see above.
