Patience is a virtue and challenging to apply 100% of the time.
But that’s what great leadership (and parenting) is all about, being consistent when the pressures tempt us to loose our patience.
Leadership is also about seeing ahead and preparing a future that is better than now, much better.
One small hairline crack from a single dropped iPhone led to a set of spider-web cracks after a second drop one week later. Heading back to Glacier National Park for a week i don’t want a third drop to render the iPhone useless.
Plan ahead.
Simple.
Not easy.
Temptation to wait almost always runs high.

There’s a harsh reality for people who dislike demanding bosses. The demanding boss doesn’t like being demanding. If accountability is clear, then results should follow. When results don’t follow the boss has to do something to ensure the results happen.
That plan b that the boss has to go to is often perceived as demanding.
Now imagine if you delivered exactly what you and the boss agreed on.
There’d be praise instead of pressure.
Tell me again who’s fault that is.

Assume you are in less than decent health. Assume you’re in a physical state that had you concerned enough to, for the first time in your life, commit in your spirit to take life-preserving action.
Assuming this is you, and you went to a reputable gym, which of these identically priced offers would seem best, and why?
Buy a package allowing three visits per week with a personal trainer, which would be with any one of the many qualified personal trainers (decent variety)
Buy a package allowing three visits per week with a specifically assigned personal trainer
Assume that all trainers are professional and that their skills and abilities, while covering all the wellness fundamentals, vary based on their years in the business, education, personal experiences, previous clientele – both quantity and quality, their drive to tell you everything – even the stuff others wouldn’t want to confront you with, and based on their vision and commitment to your personal goals.
Which would you pick and why?
