Beach leadership

Ahern Pass is the antithesis of the beach. Same CEO though.

Beach leadership.

Crazy concept.

Just thought of it.

What i need and want from a beach trip has evolved and on this trip it’s particularly pronounced.

A week of cold and clouds on Sanibel Island is happening for a reason.

The beach is a passive environment.

It’s my job as CEO of Me, Inc to discern the opportunity.

Whatever i discover, let it be fun, exciting, and meaningful.

Knowing when

The pack train also delivers and picks up here.

Knowing when to stop and to start is art.

Art is creating.

Art is not science.

We will fail and succeed at stopping and starting, but only if we create starts and stops.

Art is experimenting.

Art is asking, what if?

Clear, concise, compelling

Reporting last night on ABC Evening News.
Tom Yamas sitting in for David Muir. Will Reeve on left.

A man who broke his neck in eight places and was told he would never walk again is a recipient of new medicine at the Mayo Clinic that miraculously has him walking again.

Will Reeve, a reporter, is the son of Christopher Reeve, a famous actor who became a quadriplegic after being thrown from a horse during an equestrian event.

Last night on ABC Evening News, Will Reeve, who reported on this story, said:

I felt like I was witnessing the realization of my Father’s dream of a world of empty wheelchairs.

Clear. Concise. Compelling.

A world of empty wheelchairs.

Stumbling can be good

Trail Magic: when your business trail leads others to organizational vibrancy. Photo: screen shot from one of Evan’s video trailers.

Stumbling can be good sometimes.

Earlier this week i stumbled upon a digital storyteller.

We both loved the insane serendipity to our connection. So random.

So potentially important.

We talk in a few days.

Why wait?

Thursday afternoon can be late to plan for a Friday meeting. Then there’s the weekend, etc.

PS. Happy Saturday (as i write this).

Universally agreed upon

Disney Keynote Speakers
Still can’t find an “Undaunted” photo…and stumbled upon this one from University of Iowa Health Care. The passion to make a remarkable difference as a speaker led to me telling this story.

Approach mindset: No-brainer wisdom, universally agreed upon, always followed.

You have to feel passionate in order to persevere.

Avoidance mindset: No-brainer wisdom, universally agreed upon, rarely followed.

You have to feel passionate or you’ll give up.

Dear Universe, thank you for my passion. And thank you, Universe, for the mind shift.
