Funny thing about what people really want

Walt Disney Legacy Award recipients
Never saw this honor coming. Not in a million years. To personify is great wealth.

Funny thing about what people really want. We start out believing it’s a great paycheck.

Money to purchase the things we want to own and do the things we want to do.

Eventually we get it.

(more or less, hopefully)

And then realize life ain’t about the money.

It’s about autonomy, mastery, and purpose – which allow us to make a positive dent in the Universe.

To personify Walt Disney’s good and decent and lofty values.

Which makes us rich.

Invest in who?

Bookshelves full of Civil War books

(photo: Read. A lot. For a long time. Write some too.)

Invest in yourself.

That’s what regular exercise, a balanced diet, and adequate rest are – investments.

Do you deserve it?

Of course.

Are you willing to invest in yourself?

Not a trick question by the way.

Go.

Dare not dare at work

Balancing Work and play
What is balance and why do so few claim to have it?

Dare not dare at work.

Daring doesn’t mean bungee-jumping or doing something that would make the final cut of a Jackass Movie.

Daring is actually quite simple.

And due to it’s simplicity daring often gets overlooked and neglected (forever).

What if you took an hour at lunch and did something completely for yourself, for example?

On work days we think we should be focused on work the whole day through, including lunch.

Dare to take back your lunch time.

Today.

Go.
