Habits and ambitions, work

disney keynote speaker Jeff Noel
Simple. Key. Repeatable. Transformational. Habits. You’re welcome.

Be ambitious.

Improve like you mean it.

Have fun like you mean it.

.think .differently like you mean it.

Lean into discomfort like you mean it.

Be curiously ambitious like you mean it.

You’re welcome.

The trap to be busy, work

woman and car in parking lot
Living out of the trunk of our car between gigs. (Washington State 1984)

The trap of being busy.

Insidious.

Habitual.

Common.

Addicting.

Harmful.

Unhealthy.

Regretful.

Please stop letting your blind ambition erase your intuition.

Writing from Disney’s Town Square. This photo is from so long ago, i was still wearing Beats headphones.

What i hope for today, work

The remarkable thing about life is most people never know how long their journeys around the Sun will last.

Some people get 100 trips. Some get half that. Some get far less.

If Disney Ran Your Life, Disney would be focused and disciplined on being intentional about charting out various scenarios.

Like any business venture, there’s analysis, forecasting, ‘industry’ history, ambition, and risk.

The risk-thing.

Tricky little bugger.

Have fun.

.think .differently

Lean into discomfort.

What i wish for today, work

Paul and i met on the 1977 college freshman cross country team.

He was a New Jersey prodigy.

i was a Health and Physical Education (PE) major who needed two sports on my PE resume to graduate.

Then in Spring 1978, i was on the Track Team. Paul was too.

He was a suburb distance runner.
