No, not a new Sheriff.
A new question.
There is power is simplicity.
Power in focus.
Power in discipline.
Anyone can harness it it.
But it requires an uncommon commitment.
And one more secret ingredient.
And everyone should know what it is without having to think too long or too hard.
But they don’t.
Pity.
Met with a social media director of a large company recently yesterday.
He’s pushing 30.
I’m enjoying my 50’s.
He has a personal blog, and writes in it occasionally.
I write five daily blogs. Everyday.
He was curious what inspired me.
I mean, seriously, who writes five different ones, everyday?
Nobody.
So I told him.
He gets it now.
What about you?
No, really, what about you?
Criticize ourselves?
Hardly.
Criticize others?
Constantly.
It’s human nature.
It also helps medicate our insecurities.
And doing the opposite is a great way to improve our chances for success.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
Age-old wisdom.
We all know this, and we all understand the ramifications.
It’s a catch-22.
Darned if you don’t, darned if you do.
So what do you do?
Play it safe?
Too risky.
Take the risk?
Still too risky.
Is there a middle ground?
Most people are afraid to ask this question.
And if they do have the courage to answer it, most likely, it’s an inflated view.
Why is this?
It’s because we place the value on two things that are not relevant:
Take a look at the stock market, or baseball.
Past performance and future goals may be indicators, but they are far from perfect math.

Right now, today, what makes you the clear choice, the most expensive valuable choice?
