12-second video: Not the Continental Divide. But it’s differently-good.

Being gone from a place you raised your child on is unusually uneventful until you realize it’s happened.

White board with beach times.

Island time is a state of mind, an attitude, and vibe.

Island time also has the potential to become a way of life.

Captiva Day 1, work

Late afternoon. About 100 meters from the Gulf of Mexico.

Our expectations are exceeded.

We had high expectations.

Plus, we haven’t visited since 2019.

Disney teamwork, work

florida sunset from a backyard
Without a specific goal to do so, been sitting here at sunset more frequently.

By sunset last night, Chapin was at work (Disney). Cheryl was finishing some Christmas admin stuff. And i was sitting here (above photo).

As 2025 winds down, i’m ready to wind up…

More of everything that brings togetherness, enjoyment, progress, memories.

Pull up a chair

One of my favorite memories from our 2025 Glacier visits.

A high-mountain chalet made from mountain-side rocks.

A small, spartan room, stone floor, with a steel bunkbed and one folding chair. A window, modest wall mirror and tiny nightstand. A wooden door that locks only from the inside.

The walls are thick from the massive rock ‘bricks’.

If you climb up onto the outside windowsill, you create a homemade, natural ‘chair’.

Sometimes it’s the best seat on the Continental Divide.
