The two biggest leadership responsibilities

Leadership as a parent is the biggest responsibility you will ever have.

Children rarely listen yet they are constantly watching. Be an example, not a warning.

Mom says it’s time to move.

Watching and taking the cue.

Eat. Now. Ok.

Leadership as a parent is the biggest responsibility you will ever have.

The second biggest responsibility is personal leadership, as CEO of You, Inc.

Son, this is profoundly simple and simply profound.

Study and practice a diverse approach to personal leadership.

Curate the best and apply it as if your life depends on it.

Be a noticer

Lots of green.
So tiny.
Lots of rocks.
Lots of small colorful plants so tiny we rarely look.
Do you see it?
Can you find this one?

Be a noticer.

For your entire life.

Personal leadership 101.

Son, this is the essence of over-focusing.

Celebrate yourself

Hidden Lake trail was the backup plan.
After three weeks being closed for bear activity, the trail opened up just hours before i arrived.
Prolific.
Mt. Reynolds.

Celebrate yourself.

Be your own biggest cheerleader.

Have fun with this.

Life is the best party i’ve ever been invited to.

Son, as CEO of You, Inc, you have all the rights and privileges to do as you see fit.

Negative leadership karma?

Going To The Sun Mountain. Moody.
Caught the pole pulling out.
Logan Pass is around the right corner, several miles away.
Whitecaps.
Montana is Big Sky country. Glacier takes this to a different level.

After a wonderful early morning hike at Logan Pass i sat in the rental car for nearly an hour while finishing yesterday’s blog posts.

Every visitor arriving after 8:00 AM is subjected to the same harsh reality – no available parking. And no alternatives.

It’s intense, frustrating, and annoying for thousands of daily visitors.

The number of times people saw me in the car and thought i was leaving tested my patience.

It shouldn’t have.

My patience should have triumphed.

It didn’t.

When i pulled out of the front row space, negative karma reminded me how destructive impatience is.

On the drive down, i quickly counted my blessings and recalibrated the situation.

Almost instantaneously, i regained peace and contentment.

Sent my Alamo contact (an assistant manager i befriended a month ago) three photos and a summary.

Great karma owns up to mistakes and accepts responsibility for every error.

A full day that could have been avoided

Small but mighty airport. Small but mighty fork(y).
Apple products can arrive in hours but you have to be present. No one was home. We figured it out.
The small table served as an office from 11:00 AM – 6:30PM yesterday. Needed good WiFi connection. It didn’t work as well as planned, based on previous experience.
It was recommended by a local that i check this place out.
Dad helping his son with the ball ramp.
Leaving Columbia Falls for Rising Sun.
Traffic was non-existent and the drive was relaxing, providing quality self-reflection time.

Seven hours at Columbia Falls Library.

Uploaded 450 of 1,000 picture and videos.

Visited Smiths to get a few groceries and supplies.

Went across the street to Glacier Lanes because it was recommended to check out. Long ago when the Hungrey Horse Dam was being built, there were three bowling centers. Now there’s one.

Drove Going To The Sun Road without a soul in my lane.

Drove the speed limit even though it would have been easy to drive faster.

Leadership is mostly a behind the scenes job. No one sees the hard work. Do the hard work anyway.

You’ll see a disproportionately high number of great days.
