We dined with Mike, Carol, and their daughter Courtney. Crescent City, Oregon is their home. Carol mentioned a book and it’s title took my breath away.

Black bear on dry creek bed — Soaking my feet in McDonald Creek near a bridge. The Bear was headed under the bridge. Was momentarily vulnerable because i was barefoot and couldn’t see the bear and no one could confirm if it was a Grizzly. Turns out Black Bears kinda bore me.

Being legit aware of danger is different than a false alarm.
