Culture delivers systemic outcomes

A rare day but they do happen…using the same picture twice in one day.

Insist your love for your passion is greater than your fear.

Insight: Treat culture as a management tool designed to embed (operationalize) new-thinking habits. These changed habits and mindsets lead to predictable, habitually intentional decision-making and better results.

50% of previous efforts

6-second video: Going slow is not the same as not moving.

Limits serve a purpose. Some are critical, some are stifling. Embrace and adapt to both, as appropriate.

  1. COE (chain of excellence) cards
  2. What was your onboarding experience?
  3. Who’s your trainer?
  4. Who’s your go-to person(s).
  5. What delighted you most at work during your first couple weeks onboarding?

Note: This post’s title (50% of previous efforts) is inspired by today’s one-week post cataract surgery followup exam. Grateful Dr Callaway is blessing me with a return to ‘50% of previous efforts’ for pre-cataract surgery physical routines.

Traveling light is joyful.

Liberating.

Courageous.

Perhaps even a blinding flash of the obvious.

Right here, right now

7-second video: Have ever tried to put the poncho back in the bag?
23-second video: It also doesn’t have sleeves. Yet it was so helpful to have for the 800-meter walk in the rain.

Preaching comes second

Pink hibiscus flowers
We bought red last year. First blooms this year. Loved the pink surprise.
18-second video: First take. Practice before heading to the roof, which is the real goal.
22-second video: Some folks missed the whole ‘act your age’ message.

Only preach what you practice.

Media sweeps up hopeful, ambitious people with shortcuts to success.

Imposter syndrome is a fair description for most people launching a career.

My speaking career was launched over a lifetime at Disney and then Disney Institute (DI).

Prior to DI i never stayed in one Disney position for more than two years.

A 15-year Disney Resort Ops career and then a 15-year Disney Institute career.

Woke up one day after decades of experience and realized i was an expert and could skip imposter syndrome.

Grateful for the way the Universe (and Disney) graced me with a multitude of reps.

There is zero theory in my work.

Have fun.

.think .differently

Lean into discomfort.

Keep moving forward.
