Surrender to imperfection

Disney Keynote Speaker
The focus (out of my control) creates an energy and a karma that using an iPhone allows to happen organically.

The iPhone has an automatic focus.

No turning a lens to control what’s in, or out of, focus.

You can influence focus, but not guarantee it.

The iPhone’s “organic” and automatic focus creates an energy and a karma that requires the viewer to accept – and appreciate all photos as little or as much as the viewer would like.

The imperfection is the part i appreciate the most.

That, and the surrendering to imperfection (which flourishes).

Now, apply today’s insight to writing sentences and paragraphs for a series of books that encompass “The Disney Way”.

i love to write

Disney Institute Keynote Speaker
Variety is the spice of life.

i love to write.

And take pictures.

And to sometimes write about the pictures i’ve taken.

Haven’t missed a day of writing in 9.5 years.

Not one.

The first two writing trips to Glacier required more effort than expected to gain momentum.

But here’s the thing, i plan on everything taking longer than expected.

Hoping, however, that none of the seven books exceed 130 pages.

The page count is the benchmark from my first book.

The book Mid Life Celebration: rethink • reprioritize • recommit

Disney Keynote Speaker
Sent a bunch of postcards yesterday. Snapped this just before putting them in the mailbox. They are laid out on the road. Did a second photograph of the flip side to remind me who i’ve sent cards to.

The book Mid Life Celebration: rethink • reprioritize • recommit is the printed version of my “last lecture”.

It’s a life guide for our son in case something bad ever happens to me and the book provides a documented resource filled with answers to questions he might want to ask his dad.

Do you want certain things in your life?

Disney Keynote Speaker
Want to receive postcards? Send some. Sent four out the other day.

Do you want certain things in your life?

Use karma.

Put positive things out there and you’re more likely to receive similar things in return.

Randomly, the postcard example is a great example.

Leaving for Glacier National Park (trip three this Summer) in three days.

Bank on discipline and focus if you want to create Magic

Disney Keynote Speaker
It’s not the Magic that makes it work, it’s the work that makes it Magic. Going the extra inch (lower right above).

The effort to travel with my colleagues and to hike with them to 7,000’+ is Magical, and a fair amount of work. Going the extra inch (lower left (above).

All the art of living lives in a fine mingling of letting go and holding on.  – Havelock Ellis

The long way is the shortcut.

Bank on discipline and focus if you want to create Magic.

Let go of false hope.

Embrace a long, steady climb.
