Much of the allure of great thinkers (say, Steve Jobs) is the spin the marketing and public relations people put on what the public gets to consume.
Yes, we know these people are or were ridiculously driven, yet we selectively push that aside because driven people are often exceptionally difficult to be around.
This my friends, is one of the proverbial crosses a visionary entrepreneur must carry.
It’s also the reason why so many people fall in love with the “text book theory” narrative.
Theory is so inspiring, especially from a distance.
In real life, inspiring, aspirational theory can eat you alive.
