Stereotypes, work

.think .differently
Brilliant ad. Years ago, maybe 2010, while returning to Walt Disney World from Disneyland. Southwest Airlines was legendary. Then Herb dies and what happens next? If you’re not careful, all the positive stereotypes Herb built begin to look like all the negative industry stereotypes he ran from and profited from.

What are stereotypes? Why do they exist? How are they helpful? How are they harmful?

The photo and text commentary above is the main message here today.

Stereotypes are true and untrue beliefs about something or someone.

Stereotypes exist because they help society filter repetitive patterns efficiently.

Stereotypes positively offer effortless reflexive responses and choices in daily life.

Stereotypes negatively offer untrue, harmful, indecent, and unwanted judgement on things and people.
