Urgent vs Important

The AquaDuck, a waterslide, goes out over the ship’s edge. Insanely unconventional. The audacity. The perfect audacity.

The perfect audacity.

Leadership Church

Jody Maberry front left, invited me to Lee Cockerell’s mastermind event lunch. Yesterday.

Leadership Church.

What experiences, beliefs, goals, and vision houses everything you believe in as a leader – as CEO of You, Inc?

As a leader are you a thermometer or a thermostat?

This question is not new.

This question deserves a regular checkin/checkup.

Many go through life, managing it, checking the temperature.

Few go through life, leading it, setting the temperature.

You’re in charge.

Be amazed and be amazing.

Got career joy?

Two fav Disney movies serendipitously featured in this Disney Cast Holiday card. UP, fav Pixar. Lion King, fav Disney animated. Mary Poppins, not shown, fav of all time.

Got career joy?

Does the work you get to do trump the work you have to do? That’s what this post means.

Timeless and timely

The past year and the present year.

My friend and Disney legend Marty Skylar told me that Walt had one foot in the past and one foot in the present.

Marty went on to tell me that Walt used the nostalgia and emotional connection of the past as an anchor for his pitch for a crazy idea for the future.

We fondly call this timeless and timely.

Same for us.

We don’t want to be the people who denounced the original automobile concept in favor of a faster horse.

Where the best ideas come from

This video is the catalyst for all the LinkedIn videos. December 17, 2019 while shooting a short client video message, the catalytic idea appeared, up on our second floor roof.

Many ideas, once seen, are considered obvious. But before they are “seen”, they are impossibly elusive. Learning to think inside the box facilitates and accelerates great ideas.

The best ideas are no cost to low cost, have significant impact, and scale like a virus because of the ease for anyone and everyone to implement.

To see how the LinkedIn videos have morphed from 60 days ago, go here.
