Now ya know.

Time to finally get to work, right?

Just kidding.

You’ve been getting to work for as long as i’ve know you.

No one thinks deeper, works harder, cares more, or reaches higher.

Stay humble, and, keep striving.

Beginner – expert spectrum

Gary is an expert. You are an expert. Everyone is an expert in their own personal opinion.

You know who gives you what you’re lacking in personal confidence?

You.

Great news. Maybe not what you expected, but still great news.

This means that you can go at your own pace.

This means that you can set your own goals and work hard, at your pace, to achieve them.

Seems logical to believe that motivation is also an inside job.

It is worth discerning that everyone can benefit from mentors, coaches, and continuous education. These initiatives, of course, are also an inside job.

There is beauty and power in hearing this from an expert. With 60 years experience, and a drive with few rivals, consider where you put someone like me on the beginner-expert spectrum.

A lifetime of deconstructing

Love the Toy Story 4 character. Love that i’ve deconstructed my life and continuously reconstruct it, as seen in this view from Mt. Reynolds (9,156′). This experience crushed the person i used to be with a severe fear of heights.

A lifetime of deconstructing Disney’s DNA so that i can reconstruct Disney’s DNA in brilliantly simple ways in order to be the best teacher.

To teach is to learn twice.

Teach what?

World-class, time-tested, massively-implemented Disney business insights.

My job is to remove the Pixie Dust and Magic from what outsiders think are secrets.

My second job is to reintroduce the world-class Disney basics to outsiders so that they clearly see it’s not a Disney proprietary insight, but simple common sense that uses focus and discipline to flourish.

Focus.

Discipline.

Focus on the basics.

Discipline yourself to never take your eye off of the basics.

You’re welcome.

Just use what’s around you

Florida inlet from airplane two days ago. Unable to identify it.
Wisdom on a napkin
Faculty member joined us at lunch and shared wisdom so profound, it was necessary to capture it.
Wisdom on a napkin
Wait, there’s more.

Just use what’s around you.

You can type on a phone.

You can write on anything.

Always carry your phone and a pen.

A dining hall napkin may be your quickest way to scribe wisdom.

It was yesterday at lunch when a stranger imparted something profound in a way i hadn’t heard before. Instinctively reached in my pocket for the GNP pen.
