The science of creativity in exceeding expectations

The science of creativity in exceeding expectations, based on my 44 years of field research, is that going the extra mile is a flawed concept to get there.

It’s unfair, that news.

Yet this news has a silver lining – go the extra inch.

You’re welcome.

Life has lots of moving parts

TRON is coming to Walt Disney World. Photo: July 3, 2019 (yesterday).
Context.

Life has lots of moving parts.

Yet all these parts fall into five foundational categories:

  1. Mind
  2. Body
  3. Spirit
  4. Work
  5. Home

What are your foundational life-categories?

Have you reflected enough to be decisive?

Have you written them down?

Have you repeated the process of reflecting on the foundational categories within each of the five main topics?

What if you did?

What if you began slow and steady progress in honing these priorities?

What if you could buy a one-way ticket to somewhere, possibly spending four or five weeks there, and only carry a small day-hike pack?

What would it take?

What would your daily experience reveal to you?

Good news, your life has a capable CEO.

Better than expected Disney podcast

Disneyland vanity license plate. We parked near it yesterday at Walt Disney World.

Better than expected Disney podcast?

Yes.

Of course, i’m biased.

But i felt it hours before we began recording.

A premonition.

A redemption from the previous If Disney Ran Your Life podcast episode where anxiety gripped me so strongly, i wanted to give up.

Jody Maberry masterfully talked me off the ledge and it was exhilarating to conquer the negative voices and self-doubt.

That episode a few weeks ago was a set up for a come back.

Loved every minute of yesterday.

Thank you, again, Jody Maberry.

If Disney Ran Your Life brainstorm

Optimistic that everything is coming together for a great recording in a couple hours.

If Disney Ran Your Life (IDRYL) podcast brainstorm for Season 3, Episode 4.

Reveal that energy (not time) is the secret metric to a balanced life.

Reveal that after Episode _(tbd)___, IDRYL will become a paid subscription. Explain why, and the vision for it.

Review or restate IDRYL’s 22 episode history (remember, 99.9% of listeners will have never heard them).

Pick a Disney story to share.

Pick WDW location(s) to visit.

What happens when you’re overwhelmed?

My misfit idea is that balance exists. In 2008, i incorporated a small business and quickly discerned the secret to balance.

What happens when you’re overwhelmed?

Stress multiplies rapidly.

My “eliminating stress” lifetime batting average is world-class but it is not perfect.

Because it’s world-class, i remember why i work so hard to eliminate it.

Living with a world-class batting average versus living with a poor batting average is like living with democracy and justice versus living in a worn-torn counrtry.
